Reports: To the Diocesan Secretary
Job summary
- Shall report to Diocesan Secretary
- Shall be the head of department of Finance, Planning & Investment
- Shall be the Secretary to the Board of Finance, Planning and Investment and other related committees
- Shall ensure proper Planning, Mobilization, Management control and Accountability of the Financial Resources of the Diocese
- Shall prepare and present the Diocesan Budget to the Council and Synod and other related meetings and then monitors its implementation
- Shall maintain control and be the Principal Signatory of major and subsidiary Diocesan accounts
- Shall be the Technical Advisor to the Bishop and Diocesan organs on financial matters and should be in position to build a strong stewardship team and improve internal controls
- Shall provide financial information to the Board and the Diocese as required on monthly, quarterly and annual routines
- Shall be responsible for the payroll and payment of the statutory dues
- Shall ensure timely procurement and disposal of goods and services
- Shall ensure that both Internal and External audits are done
- Shall Supervise, Evaluate and Appraise staff performance in the Department
- Shall supervise all financial institutions of the Diocese
- Shall ensure that there is timely auditing of books of accounts.
- Shall work with the Provincial Church Commissioners on Estates/Assets of the Diocese
- Shall be computer literate and have the capacity to use the current information technology systems in transacting Diocesan Finances.
- Shall be the Custodian of all Diocesan Assets e.g. Motor vehicle log books, land titles, Diocesan seal, contract agreements and copy rights
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the Diocesan Secretary
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 5 years of Experience
- Maximum age of 60 years for non-Clergy and 65 years for Clergy
- Professional qualification of CPA, ACCA etc. is an added advantage
- Masters degree in finance and/or Accounting is an added advantage
- Driving experience is an added advantage
