Reports: To the Diocesan Secretary

Job summary

  1. Shall report to Diocesan Secretary
  2. Shall be the head of department of Finance, Planning & Investment
  3. Shall be the Secretary to the Board of Finance, Planning and Investment and other related committees
  4. Shall ensure proper Planning, Mobilization, Management control and Accountability of the Financial Resources of the Diocese
  5. Shall prepare and present the Diocesan Budget to the Council and Synod and other related meetings and then monitors its implementation
  6. Shall maintain control and be the Principal Signatory of major and subsidiary Diocesan accounts
  7. Shall be the Technical Advisor to the Bishop and Diocesan organs on financial matters and should be in position to build a strong stewardship team and improve internal controls
  8. Shall provide financial information to the Board and the Diocese as required on monthly, quarterly and annual routines
  9. Shall be responsible for the payroll and payment of the statutory dues
  10. Shall ensure timely procurement and disposal of goods and services
  11. Shall ensure that both Internal and External audits are done
  12. Shall Supervise, Evaluate and Appraise staff performance in the Department
  13. Shall supervise all financial institutions of the Diocese
  14. Shall ensure that there is timely auditing of books of accounts.
  15. Shall work with the Provincial Church Commissioners on Estates/Assets of the Diocese
  16. Shall be computer literate and have the capacity to use the current information technology systems in transacting Diocesan Finances.
  17. Shall be the Custodian of all Diocesan Assets e.g. Motor vehicle log books, land titles, Diocesan seal, contract agreements and copy rights
  18. Any other relevant duties assigned by the Diocesan Secretary

Qualifications                 

  1. Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
  2. 5 years of Experience
  3. Maximum age of 60 years for non-Clergy and 65 years for Clergy
  4. Professional qualification of CPA, ACCA etc. is an added advantage
  5. Masters degree in finance and/or Accounting is an added advantage
  6. Driving experience is an added advantage
