Ankole Revival coffee project
The Coffee initiative was a dream by Assoc. Prof. Bishop Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa having learnt that people were selling coffee after flowering and would be given pea nuts.
The initiative then established coffee gardens on church land and demonstration gardens with good practices, and the acreage has since increased to 233.
The coffee Initiative supports member households with coffee seedlings to expand on the estate since we have begun coffee bulking and value addition.
We are guided by Uganda Coffee Development Authority and Ministry of Agriculture, they have been helpful, especially by providing the equipment for value addition.
We are more into Coffee bulking and aggregation.
We produce more of wet processed or washed coffee from organically grown Red cherry. Sometimes, we also do Honey processed.
