9th Ankole Diocese Youth and Children Convention 2020 was held at Ankole Diocese offices on 16th to 20th January 2020. Over 1500 youths and Children attended. Speakers included Rt.Rev.Dr.Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa (Bishop Ankole Diocese), Rev. Canon Geoffrey Byarugaba, Rev.Canon Dr.Rebecca Nyegenye, Lt.Col Edith Nakarema, Mrs.Margret Opol among others. His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda on Wednesday 24th April 2019 officiated the centenary celebrations of Mbarara Junior School. The school celebrated 108 years of existence. It was founded in 1911 by the Church Missionary Society, it was first established at Kamukuzi hill, the then headquarters of Ankole Kingdom.
