Ground breaking for Cancer childrens ward

On may 14th 2021, The Bishop of Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Fred Sheldon made a ground breaking the construction of the cancer children’s ward. The ward is expected be constructed at a cost of 700 million in form of a donation from Netherlands. It will be a specialized hospital that will assist in operation on children’s eyes with cancer. This will help very many children from loosing their eyes as previously it was done. Every month about 30 cases are operated on thought the year and yet in UK only 30 cases are operated upon in a year. The deputy city clerk, thanked Bishop for his visionary leadership of looking for technocrats to work in various areas of the diocese that have enabled writing of good proposals and hence funding coming in. He said that health is important and therefore we need good health facilities
