CELEBRATING ST. JAMES’ DAY AT ST JAMES CATHEDRAL, RUHARO.

On Sunday 18th June 2023, The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Assoc. Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa presided over a thanksgiving of st. James’ day at St James cathedral Ruharo. The thanksgiving was attended by the Archdeacons, Canons, Reverends, and lay readers of Ankole Diocese, the church pillars, the Dean St. James cathedral, various Christians from Ankole diocese and many other dignitaries. The Dean of St James Cathedral advised the congregants to do a lot of health checkup to ensure they are healthy and that is why the Ruharo Mission Hospital team was present to do that work. He also thanked those that have supported the children’s church. The Bishop said that the Diocese was using all its strength and resources to promote coffee and vanilla crops as commercial crops in order to overcome subsistence agriculture and embrace commercial agriculture under household department. He continued to ask Christians to pray for this project to be a success as they plan to export coffee abroad. Rev. Can. Danson Tumwebaze who was the preacher asked Christians to evaluate and see if there is anything they have added to the church of Christ. He encouraged members to have faith and that their faith should be seen in what they do , as we look at James, referring to Acts 12 He continued to emphasize the fact that we are one in christ and we can do things that bring oneness even when we are not the same. Eph.4:3-11 A total of 14 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. The guest of honor who is church pillar Mr Edgar Muhumuza appreciated the work that Bishop has done to preach the word of God to all. He then contributed 2m towards the children’s church construction. Ruharo mission hospital medical team conducted medical examinations on people which included HIV, diabetes, pressure, body weight and much more.
