On 3rd June, the Minister of Energy and Mineral development Hon. Ruth Ssentamu Nankabirwa unveiled the Namugongo martyrs site a 13.1billion refurbished amphitheater following the generous donation from the Uganda government through HE Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni T.
The 2023 martyrs celebration was presided by His Grace Most Rev Dr Kazimba Mugalu was attended by so many delegates worldwide.
The preacher who was The Most Rev Folly Beach of the Anglican Province of North America, a member province of GAFCON emphasized the need for repentance, unity and growth in the service of Jesus Christ.
During the same function, the unveiling of Greater Ankole Dioceses project of 2022 was done and it started with a prayer from His Grace Most Rev Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu.
The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Assoc. Prof Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa who was also the cluster head gave a brief about the project.
The Rt Rev Assoc. Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa along with Rt. Rev. Stephen Namanya and Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni Officially handed over the 3000 iron sheet VIP shade which was contributed to by Greater Ankole Diocese.
153m balance from Martyrs day 2022 was used to purchase the iron sheets and about 80m in unfulfilled pledges is still expected and when received will be used to thatch the remaining pavilion.
