The Bishop of Ankole Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa in company of the Dean St. James Cathedral, the Diocesan Secretary and Diocesan missions’ coordinator together with the Words of Hope team led by Rev. Can. Titus Baraka presided over a training workshop of radio ministry ground raiding at St James cathedral, Ruharo on 27th march 2023
Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa who officially opened the training appreciated the work that Revival Radio is doing in the region which has helped in preaching the gospel. The Bishop challenged the clergy, Revival radio staff and parish mission coordinators that attended to think of how many people they have discipled. He asked them to think about how best they can reach out to many more people especially those that don’t know Runyakore language.
He said that there is power in communication but also in media, and if used well they can yield so much. The Bishop thanked the team from Words of Hope heartily for showing interest in Revival radio and asked the members to utilize the presence of the words of hope team so well.
From the two sessions that were handled by the team from Words of Hope led by Can, Titus Baraka, they emphasized the fact that there is need to establish a way of discipling people that always accept Christ on radio and that’s why they want contact numbers to be put in all studios that partner with Words of Hope. They said that people need to know what being born-again means as they try to expand and make the services of Words of Hope bigger.
Rev. Esmond Serunjogi said that Words of Hope is about empowering people to nurture others especially those that have just accepted Christ. He went on and said that as a media industry, they are there to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and if we get the mission right and the gospel right, then the money will come.
The Dean later thanked Can. Titus Baraka for the wonderful teaching together with his team and challenged the congregants to go out and put everything into practice.
The Diocesan Secretary thanked the team the entire Words of Hope team for training the people on how to market radio ministry.
He also appreciated the great partnership and said that truly they have been recharged to go on and preach the gospel to greater heights. He thanked the people who attended for showing interest in this radio and asked them to take the good news further and further.
To God be the Glory.
